At Seasons Hospice (now referred to as AccentCare) we provide comfort care that helps manage and support pain along with symptoms for patients so they can enjoy the time left with those around them . A common misconception is that one must be close to their very last days to take advance of these services. Actually, some folks may qualify for support services anywhere from 6 months to over a year or more!
Hospice care can come into the conversation when a patient or family and their loved ones decide they would like to avoid return trips to the hospital and unnecessary treatments or procedures, significant recent decline in ADLS (activities of daily living) has had frequent falls or infections, wounds perhaps. The patient must have a terminal diagnosis. There is no cost to utilize these benefits and are covered under Medicare Part A and can utilize secondary insurance as well.
Seasons helps support in Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals in Delaware at bedside, including having our own Seasons Inpatient Center in both hospitals. Seasons also partners with local doctors offices, at-home and in-home care for families, Assisted Living and Memory Care Communities and Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation facilities.
Did you know that Seasons offers psychological services, board certified music therapists, chaplins, RN/LPN/aids services? They help with providing supplemental supplies like briefs and diapers, organize and help execute Legacy projects with volunteers and aides, and so much more!!!! Even Bereavement support for the entire family if needed for 13 months after your loved one passes.
At Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care we strive for excellence in services and quality of time left for each patient and their loved ones. If you are in need of services or know someone who is, you can learn more at www.seasons.org.
